NAPS to Host Climate Change Program on Leap Day
NAPS will be hosting a special program on Leap Day, Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, 10am-11:30pm, in the Fellowship Hall at the United Methodist Church located at the corner of US 360 and Route 201 in Heathsville. The theme of the special program is “Leap Into a New Decade of Climate Change Awareness and Action." The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
Student "Community Problem Solvers" from Northumberland Middle School will present their “Parachutes for the Planet” project. Former Delegate Albert Pollard Jr., Dr. Judy Lang, Kevin Howe and Betsy Washington, Charlene Talcott and other presenters are to address local effects of climate change, mitigation strategies, Virginia energy legislation, and how individuals can reduce their carbon footprint.
The special program will be followed directly by the NAPS Annual Meeting, where its membership will discuss plans for 2020.
