NAPS Awards Five Scholarships

Congratulations to 2017 NAPS Scholarship awardees: Jada Noel, Macey Augst, Lexy Newsome, Kaitlyn Haynie, and David Henning (not shown in photo).

NAPS President Mike Ahart awarded the $500 scholarships at the Senior Recognition presentation ceremony at Northumberland High School last night (June 1, 2017). NAPS awards several scholarships each year to college-bound seniors at the High School.

The process begins with the scholarship application forms. School guidance counselors work with the seniors to fill out the forms and to prepare for interviews conducted by four NAPS representatives. The interviews focus on high school grades, extra-curricular activities, college interests, and community service. You can help support NAPS Scholarships by contributing to the NAPS Endowment. Just mark your check “Scholarship” and the treasurer will allocate it to the proper account. Make the check payable to NAPS and mail to P.O. Box 567, Heathsville, VA 22473.
